Himalayan Garhwal University (HGU) has been established with a clear mission, vision and specific objectives of imparting quality education. The Campus of University is surrounded by natural panoramic views which provides an ideal environment for higher education.

HGU is especially focusing on the educational needs of women, the tribal’s and other marginalized sections. The university has also signed memorandum of understanding with several leading research institutions, companies and professional bodies for the benefit of its students.

Migration of Population in the search of higher education and employment from hilly region of Uttarakhand is a major issue. The State Government is trying it’s best to minimize migration. Therefore with the Government support the Himalayan Garhwal University will be able to address this problem of migration. HGU will not only reduce migration of Hill Area but all encourage students from metro who are willing to study in pollution free environment especially at hilly areas. HGU also welcomes students from other countries for quality education of international standards at hill area of Uttarakhand.

Himalayan Garhwal University Application Process

Admissions to any academic programme in the Himalayan Garhwal University, Uttarakhand is made on the basis of merit. University may conduct its own entrance test, interview, counselling, direct admission or any other basis as per the specific requirements of the particular academic programme and the weightage to be assigned for various admission criteria shall be as prescribed by the University from time to time.

Students are required to send their applications on the prescribed format obtained from the Admission Cell of Himalayan Garhwal University, Uttarakhand and Information centers on payment of Rs. 1000/-. (Application can also be downloaded from the University website: www.hgu.ac.in).  Enclose a demand draft of Rs. 1000/- (Rupess five hundered only) drawn in favour of “Himalayan Garhwal University” payable at ‘Dehradun'. with downloaded application.  

They should go through the details of the Programme interested in and its eligibility criteria before applying for the same. The application form should be submitted or sent to “The Registrar Himalayan Garhwal University,Village Dhaid Gaon, Block Pokhra, Dist. Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India”. All the information furnished in the application form should be carefully filled, complete and correct to the best knowledge of` the aspirants and followings duly self attested copies of all the required documents/certificates must be enclosed:

i. 10th mark sheet
ii. 12th mark sheet
iii. 10th Pass certificate
iv. 12th pass certificate v. Domicile ( for permanent residents of Uttarakhand )
vi. Annual Income certificate
vii. Transfer certificate/ Migration Certificate
viii. Character certificate
ix. 10 passport size photographs
x. Proof of entitlement for a particular reservation category (SC/ST/OBC Certificate)
xi. Pre-Qualifying Test Score card (if any)
xii. Medical Fitness certificate
xiii. Domicile Certificate

Candidate shall be considered for provisional admission to particular academic programme, subject to the availability of seats, on receipt of the completed application form, and satisfying all the requirements and eligibility criteria for admission to any of the academic programmes.

The submission of application is not guarantee of admission. Incomplete application forms, received after the due date. will be rejected without any intimation to the students. Once the students are being admitted to the University, an Anti-Ragging affidavit by students & parents both on stamp paper of Rs. 10/- duly attested by the oath commissioner/notary, has to be submitted. The Confirmation and continuance of admission subject to verification of copy of documents submitted with originals. University may ask for submission of any certificate or document to the student prior or at the time of admission or afterwards, for the purpose of admission or otherwise, as decided by the University.
